The Hero Honda Street was a revolutionary one for our market. It promised all the control & efficiency of a manual transmission with the ‘clutch-less’ convenience of an automatic. It didn’t quite do too well though. 

Maybe it was too bold an idea for regular motoring folks, or the ‘step-through’ riding style of the bike. Or simply the fact that it was priced beyond market perceptions. A mix of all you say? Hmm, could be… 

What I do know is that these bikes like the other duds in the market, simply faded away from the scene. Seeing this specimen being used therefore made me happy. For it is very much a practical bike, and rather fuss free at that. 

To the forgotten ones then and the many joys of exploring life one tank of fuel at a time…
